POSSIBILITY ABOUNDS
WaySeeing combines practical organizational inquiry with ethics, philosophy and imagination to help teams see how AI, robotics, and emerging technology change the world.
Because seeing differently changes what becomes possible.
We don’t do ethics-as-usual.
Let’s be honest. Most times you meet an ethicist, you’re sitting in a mandatory course or something has gone seriously wrong.
And instead of discussing the things you’re actually worried about, you hear about someone else’s framework and principles. Perhaps, like Madelaine, you leave frustrated. Angry, even.
WaySeeing Founder, Madelaine Ley, was so disappointed by the way ethics was taught that she dropped out of university. After bartending a few years (a bootcamp for conversational skills), she found her way back into a master’s in philosophy and bioethics, then a PhD in Ethics of Technology, specializing in robotics and AI. What’d she learn?
Ethical sensitivity and discernment are skills this moment needs.

Today's generative AI is changing the way we think, learn, communicate, create, and connect.
Tomorrow's embodied AI will change work, care, physical space and relationships.
WaySeeing studies the ethical transition across both.
Meet Madelaine
Philosopher. Ethicist. Researcher. Artist.
Madelaine Ley, PhD., works at the intersection of technology, ethics, ecology, philosophy, art, and contemplative practice.
She helps people think about technological change without reducing difficult questions to frameworks, binaries or easy answers.
She worked for 6 years as a philosopher in a robotics lab, exploring how postures of care might be woven into global supply chains. She was named one of the "100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics", and has had work published in top philosophy of technology journals, as well as featured on the BBC, NRC, and Yes! Magazine.
